Just finished up some #Airfix Waterloo British Royal Horse Artillery. Enjoyed painting them. Still a very characterful set. Now onto some gun crews. #wargames #Napoleonic

@ckolonko.bsky.social some pics for you - at Roseisle on the Moray Coast. The barbed wire pin I found in the woods just under some pine needles. I thought it was an old tin can at first.

Orcadian genes in my daughter shining through!

Next wee project. The Airfix set was a favourite when I was a kid. It’s a bit ‘old’ but still has character. The @hatminis.bsky.social WWI British Artillery Crew figures are excellent.nicely sculpted.

Bren tripod!

Your desert British 25 Pounder gun crew in action. Superb figures and delight to paint.

Think I've finished this one. Airfix British 25 pounder gun set, painted in desert colours with 51st Highland Division insignia. Sand temporarily 'borrowed' from my daughter's sandpit...

The gun crew. Really nicely sculpted figures.

It might take only an hour to build but taken plenty longer to paint. Still have decals and further weathering to do. Also have the crew painted up - though ditched the stock figures and using some other figures in desert order. #Airfix #scalemodel

Watched some jousting this weekend. Now been looking at repro weapons…

#Airfix 25 pounder gun and tractor project coming along. Built (which was pretty quick and simple) and primed. Base coats on stowage and gun crew.

It might fit this Bren?

Daughter got to chase off some pesky Romans today!

It’s not so hot on spelling raspberry either…

Wee compare and contrast with a hundred years difference. Royal Horse Artillery 1815 and Royal Horse Artillery circa 1914/15. Both #Airfix 1/72 scale sets.

I’m on a bit of an Airfix roll at the moment. Finished up some Waterloo French artillery and sorting out their British counterparts. #Airfix #plasticsoldiers

Calling this done. The bald patch in the lawn came in handy! #scalemodel #Dragon

Main colours blocked in. Now to the detail. Really enjoying painting em!

Starting on these wee fellahs a wee nostalgia painting experience. Airfix Waterloo French Artillery. The guns are a bit small so considering replacing. Or do I just go with the paint box set as is. They’re not being used on any field of battle. #Napoleonic #Airfix #PlasticSoldiers #Wargaming

Just watching Waterloo. Still a seminal film after all these years. My mum went to see it and brought back a glossy brochure with a heap of film stills which inspired initially me recreating it in LEGO block (red for Allies; Blue for French) then painting Airfix figures.

Next project - Airfix French Artillery. A wee walk down memory lane! I’m one limber short but have soared on the loft. I’ve other sets in the yellow plastic but suspect this set from the Battle of Waterloo farmhouse battle set.
