If you think climate change has gotten worse during your lifetime, you're right and there's a good reason.

If you're Gen X like me, more than 3/4 of fossil fuel CO₂ emissions have occurred in your lifetime. Even if you're a Millennial, it's at least half.

Another fantastic murder mystery party at the Hearthstone! I went from my day job as Dr. Beth Johnson, Professor of Geology, to Dr. Nelly Albert, Professor of Physics. I didn't solve the mystery, but I won Best Actor! So much fun and I got to share it with Teri Gee, mysterious femme fatale!

The Indigenous People of North America have decided to go back to calling the Gulf of Mexico, “Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl”. It is what the Nahuatl People originally called it as it is the domain of the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue, who is assoc w/water bodies, including the Gulf of Mexico.

The American Geophysical Union and the American Chemical Society have taken down diversity statements from their public facing pages. No information yet about if this was forced on them or they are being proactive to try to escape notice.

The last first day of the last semester at Fox. My geology space will only get to look like this for a few more months. But I'm going to make every moment count and give my students the experience they deserve.
