when i took my driving test at 18, i was told afterwards that i could have easily killed a bicyclist because i failed to check my blind spot before merging across a bike lane. but i still passed the test.
i feel like that is pretty good summary of how fucked driver's ed and licencing is in the US.

there's, a lot of stuff that needs to be on the driving test. in my state it's really more of a road themed reading comprehension test

The only reason I dislike biking in the rain is that it makes it more stressful to avoid getting hit by a car. Visibility, slippery pavement etc.
