I was one of the idiots who thought 'they must have a plan, they're just keeping most if it quiet in case they get monstered by the press' only to find out that of course there really wasn't.

I had my entire CD collection burgled in 2001, and it was so traumatic I stopped listening to music for most of 2002-3. When I restarted, I decided the best way to deal with that loss was to look forward - and spent most of 2004-2020 listening to just new music.

Lots of stuff I disliked or skipped when I was in my teens I've come back to and reappraised as an adult with more diverse listening experience; but that happens much less after the fact for stuff that's been released since I've been an adult
