Biker and techie. Very old.
Lives in Wales, in a crumbling pile of rocks in the vague shape of a house.
I take the simplistic view that if any or all(+) of the Murdoch rags, the Daily Mail, and the Telegraph hate something the government has done, then it is probably something good. And that counts double for a budget.

(+) Who am I kidding? They never disagree with one another.

Sadly, these days I would expect no such thing :-(

Ohhhh, trick question!
Coule be 1 percentage point, but could also be 1 percent (of the principal) :-)
November 26, 2025 at 10:35 AM
OK, so we won't be buying from them again.
November 26, 2025 at 10:33 AM
<shrug>
OK, whatever.
November 25, 2025 at 6:49 PM
That's for sure. Desperate times.
November 25, 2025 at 6:12 PM
Sure, there's lots to consider. It's almost as if a 300 character ephemeral message is inadequate for big policies :-)
November 25, 2025 at 5:55 PM
*Motability, of course. Spending too much time around motorbikes :-)

At the risk of sounding unsympathetic, if they're making extra payments, perhaps they don't need government subsidies to afford a serviceable car?

But, hey, I'm very much in favour of Motobility, so please believe I'm not as hard-line as that maybe sounded.

Also, if we're relying on a narcissistic bullying thug like Trump striking a delicate balance, we're shit out of luck, right?
November 25, 2025 at 8:15 AM
Telegraph just got bought by DMGT.

There's a ton of money pouring into robotics research exactly so that AI can be used for manual work.
Capitalism is eating itself.

An unused contravention of Betteridge's law.

The moment we badly shaved apes developed the scientific method, we've had a conscious choice between utopia or dystopia.

Weirdly, we seem to choose dystopia, every time.
November 15, 2025 at 7:14 AM
It's all so very long ago, now.
November 15, 2025 at 5:20 AM
I couldn't use Twitter at 140, I didn't post anything until it increased.
November 14, 2025 at 6:24 AM
Happy days :-)
November 12, 2025 at 6:25 AM
That's actually a very good point, dammit!
November 11, 2025 at 8:07 AM
(Some good advice, though)

"Interestify"?

I generally drop a tenner in the tin but politely decline the poppy.
November 10, 2025 at 6:58 AM
Cogent and to the point, as ever. A philosopher for our times.

What safeguards do we have against Bluesky also going to ratshit?
