Not wanting to disappoint you so much that it lies is the last quality I want in a computer.

Sesame Street made me a better reader and a more empathetic human.

Gen X would be in a much worse place had we not had our time with Maria, Mr. Looper, Big Bird and Oscar.

Joan Ganz Cooney and the CTW were given the opportunity to make something truly magical and focused on the correct outcomes.
sesame street isn't supposed to make money. the post office isn't supposed to make money. not everything is supposed to MAKE MONEY

Emptying the garage of old computer parts and seeing what still works. Haven't seen either the Windows XP boot screen or BIOS settings in at least a decade. The motherboard is a classic DFI NF4 Lan Party.

Anyway…

Here’s a visualization of all the curse words being used on Bluesky in real time.

Each word is a cute fluffy little profane cloud.

It’s oddly soothing.

Giving and receiving truly meaningful feedback is hard. It requires both a level of trust between parties and a level of care that is often missing in professional settings.
Even more important than having colleagues which give you kudos for a job well done, is to have peers who tell you in a constructive and encouraging way if there's room for improvement in what you do. It's hard to get any better without this sort of feedback.

Bernie had just started his work on Grendel when I started reading the series, and through that I found his other work. The Jam always put a smile on my face. 😢
Ah, hell. RIP Bernie Mireault. Sad news.

The kid and I have spent the last two Saturdays at the Flipper Room in Concord, CA having a blast feeding quarters into pinball machines. Nothing beats the satisfaction of getting a five ball multiball or hitting that jackpot!

Seeing both The Sisters of Mercy *and* Echo and the Bunnymen in the same week has filled my nostalgia meter for a while.

(While everyone involved has obvs gotten older they still know how to put on a show!)

Good media weekend. Got caught up on Mrs. Davis, which is delightfully unhinged and unpredictable, and we watched the Judy Blume documentary.
