As much money as Amazon makes with AWS, if they loved art they could do better.

Even their failures *cough* Invasion *cough* are crafted with a level of love and care that is evident in the finished product. Look at Chief of War for example. They clearly saw what Hulu did with Shogun and said “we can do that for Hawai’i” and did.

But perhaps you’ve hit on the problem. The Broccolis sold to people who love money but don’t seem to love stories, or art. Whatever their flaws as a company, whoever runs Apple TV+ *loves* stories.

They can hire British actors and writers just like Apple did for Slow Horses.

The latest complete season of Slow Horses has a verbal flashback to Jackson Lamb in East Berlin and what that period of his life took from him.

The Lives of Others. Atomic Blonde. Counterpart. Spy Game. Berlin Station. MI-5 (titled Spooks in the U.K.). Homeland. All are either set in and around Berlin before the wall fell, or have flashbacks to that time.
