Last but not least: I'm pretty sure some people are using the sped-up sanding parts of these videos for ASMR/sleep inducement. ZZZZZZZZ.

Even with the electric tools, there's a lot of hard physical labor involved in furniture renovation. Without sanding tools, the physical work involved is exponentially harder.

(Also, waxing wood to keep up the finish is hard. I've done it, when I was a teenager. HARD WORK.)

Folks who tell you it's cheap to get into furniture flipping (never mind serious renovation) haven't considered the price of the tools involved in the work. It's not just one sander. Some influencers seem to be selling tools as much as furniture.

Repairing and renovating a piece of wooden furniture probably removes a lot of its antique value but it makes it usable again, which is more important than keeping it museum quality IMO. (I have a Victorian pub table that was repaired and refinished this way.)

Woodworking/furniture repair are skilled labor. It's hard labor and there are a lot of ways to mess it up. The folks who are doing a really good job are doing a lot more than the "furniture flippers" who make it look pretty but don't do significant repairs or wood preservation.
