I gave up my molecular biology research job 30 years ago because childcare was too expensive. The only women who could stay in the business had family that babysat for free. I fully plan to help my daughters out like that if they have kids. Young People are priced out of a “normal “ life

gen xer here. What works every where? Policies that support working people- reasonably priced housing, affordable food, good health care. I want my kids to have those things. Sadly, unless we bankroll them, it’s hard for them to get any on that list

I remember as a kid getting my vaccinations and my mom, who’s now 94 yrs old telling me how lucky I was to get them. She grew up in a time when people died without them. Get real people!

I think this is a good idea, except use prairie plants in the Midwest. They like to be packed and stacked and can mitigate many urban issues- water run off, pollinator islands, carbon dioxide reduction to name a few

We do a wolbachia project with high school students that I teach and the students are always amazed at what wolbachia can do to insects and it blocks viral infections

I care and I live in the Chicago area. I keep track of things like this but don’t always hear about them in time.
I call my elected officials and keep up locally. I think that we all see fires burning everywhere and are doing what we can.
