We're proud to announce that The Generator is now generating renewable energy thanks to a newly commissioned 8kW solar array, marking a new chapter in the building's history. Once a powerhouse of industrial education, the building is once again a source of power -now for a sustainable future ⚡️

The closure has been extended by 2 days. Followed by a couple more days with the pavement remaining closed for core drilling into the building, earth pit for the lighting conductors, and water connection pits to be dug.

This architectural element combines form and function - raw steel against the backdrop of original brick and white tile walls creates the perfect balance of old and new.

These panels will provide comprehensive connectivity throughout the space. Wiring is nearly complete with conduit and cable pathways in place. Keep posted for more updates ⚡️

One thing is apparent - our community envisions The Generator as more than just an exhibition space – they see it as a creative centre where local and international artists can collaborate, complete with residency programs and networking events connecting artists, students, and locals. Thank you 🙏🏻

You want to see exhibition opportunities for local artists, mental health and wellness programs, and interactive performances. Many suggested textile workshops, live music ranging from classical to contemporary, and community dinners to bring everyone together.
