Sixty-five years after the last diesel generator was shut down and Loughborough College was first connected to the National Grid, The Generator Loughborough is once again producing electricity — but this time in a cleaner, greener way.

Good news: Packe Street reopens soon after our essential drainage and renovation work at The Generator. Thanks for your patience during this closure - just one more day to go as we continue transforming this heritage building into Loughborough’s new Arts and Cultural Centre ⚡️

Progress update: Our new skylights are now installed 🔆 These glass panels will flood natural light throughout the building, enhancing the interior space while maintaining the character of the original structure.

More steps towards completion! Our custom steel staircase is now in place, creating a striking industrial feature that connects our different levels.

Generator Building Update 🚧

The electrical installation is progressing nicely. Everything on schedule!

They’re beginning the new mezzanine floor installation this Thursday, which will expand our usable space. Project remains on track for completion.

The first theatre technical panels are going in. @messengerbcr @birchall7479 and contractors are hard at work mounting all connection points - DMX outputs, lighting data ports, power outlets and audio connections.
