this field exam is taking over my life in such ways that when they blasted lady gaga's disease at soulcyle I though RIP Talcott Parsons you would have loved this banger.

You can't ethically write 4,000 words of your thesis in an afternoon with AI. I'll pass delusion, deadline panic, even a pack of cigarettes and energy drinks, but surrogating your thinking abilities to an LLM that steals from artists and authors is lying to yourself.

"permanent pause" is the type of writing you kindly correct in middle school essays.

An alarming account of how dynamic-pricing algorithms undermine #affordability in gasoline, groceries, and more. In housing, AI tools advised landlords to price apartments above market rate and leave them empty rather than reduce rents. An urgent call for AI policy! www.nytimes.com/video/opinio...

Mamdani is no joking about getting a dream team!
Honored to serve on Mayor-elect @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social Transition Committee on Technology. For too long, too many New Yorkers have been left behind. NYC deserves governance that centers affordability, equity, and the public good-looking forward to the work ahead. www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news...

It's no coincidence that the Department of Education removing many majors as being 'professional degrees' mostly affect fields dominated by women. Take another look at Project 2025. Women not getting federal funding for these degrees forces them out of the workforce - which is their ultimate aim.

As much as it sounds tempting, please don't do the "looking for my next NYC mayor" on your Hinge bio, ladies. Focus on finding aloof wives.

I recognize Teen Vogue is a mainstream outlet, etc. but they did take young women seriously. This a true diva down moment.

I was at a bar where the bartender was stuck on his own and had to make several cellar trips, including carrying bulky items. Each time I hopped up and got the door for him.

I had two beers that he covered in gratitude (I still tipped for both).

Much cheaper & less creepy way to get a free drink.

CUNY is the nation’s largest urban public university system and an engine of social mobility for the city's working class.

But like so many of our public institutions, Andrew Cuomo subject it to years of disinvestment and neglect as Governor. That record cannot be forgotten.

If your colleagues tell you they are worried about their migration status and safety here, please don't reply by saying "I'm sorry but the news are just too much for me to handle." Seriously, just reposting mattxiv infographics and then ignoring your community does nothing for anyone.

The Alex O'Keefe Metro North incident is bananas. I've seen people occupy 2 and even 3 seats with their stuff, get batshit drunk on the train before a baseball game, or being heavily intoxicated *and disrupting* coming back from NYC and guess what, white ladies would rarely call the cops on them.

As CNN offers daylong saturation coverage of the podcaster’s funeral, I went back and checked to see how CNN covered Melissa Hortman’s memorial on 6/28, where Walz spoke and Biden/Harris attended.

It got about four minutes during the hours it was happening—less than Jeff Bezos’s wedding that day.
