South West Ohio today

We just came back from a holiday party where we realized that at age 71 and 70 we were the oldest people there. Pretty sobering.

What many people don't understand is how pervasive this culture of corruption is in Ohio; I was offered a bribe even before I took office back in 1992. That was the norm under then Speaker Vern Riffe as later evidenced by the "Pancaking scandal".

This morning I was having trouble with a 10 horsepower electric motor at a grain bin. When the electrician showed up, he asked me if the motor just sat there and hummed. When I said yes, he replied that the motor was humming because it doesn't know the words. True story.
