New book of mine: CONFRONTING BAD TROUBLE: NOTES ON HELP AND HARM. The title pretty well summarizes it--my observations, with some backup authorities, on why people sometimes are saints and often are devils. Should be controversial--plenty in here to annoy left, right, or center.

Happy Easter to all! Whether you believe Jesus rose bodily, or whether it's a metaphor for the fact that love and hope never die, or whether you simply honor love and care. "God is love," and that God has risen this day and all days.

Rain at last--the first real rain in 9 months. Stay solidary and fight the denialist lies--global climate change is real and is rapidly getting more harmful. Honesty and solidarity will win--if we can manage them.

Happy new year, and may the year bring a rebirth of civil society in the US, to the confounding of the fascists. Passivity opens the door to being manipulated and used by them. Work on for the good.

Misty morning. Southern California's worst drought in history, so far this rainfall year. We have to reconstruct civil society, as noted in my posts, before we can do anything about it. Technical solutions are out there, but the world is paralyzed by hatreds.

Time to start a serious movement to save honesty, tolerance, fairness, and responsibility from fascism. Taking suggestions for patron animal (dogs are too often disrespected...). We can't do anything good unless we reclaim civil society with those basics.
