thank you for the update!
Yeah, It kinda smells like an electrical fire.
Was listening to the fire scanner for a little bit & I thought they said it started in the attic.
They also were having issues getting water from the hydrants - one of the engines had to fix a pipe or something.

I initially thought someone was stoking up a fire pit but then I saw the smoke in the air.
This really sucks so much…

I was listening to the fire scanner & I thought I heard chatter about getting access to hydrants .. at least one engine had to fix a pipe first

That’s the excuse I use to keep my lights up year round - sports teams - When in fact I am a lazy goth.
Which also explains the perennial skeleton on our porch. It’s not in fact a scarecrow for porch pirates.

Dark terrible thought number 2: will camps be built in lieu of hospitals & nursing homes that will be closing?
The disabled were put into camps (& showers) in WW2, & we are currently rhyming with that history / following their playbook.

I guess we shall see what the next stage of my career entails.
It most likely won’t involve government work, b/c … well, ya know.
So, I’m going to listen to track 6 on REM’s document album on loop until I hit Penn station while eating cookies for dinner.

The commute via MARC & metro was bittersweet over the many years & both jobs. Grateful, of course, to have transit. But also, the slog was life draining.
