Maybe, but there has probably been a substantial increase in the computational power being used with those models, possibly pushing against economic viability.

I don't think it's plateau'd yet, but the difference between models from 2019 to 2022 is huge, and 2022 to 2025 not so much.

And I don't believe it's efficient to use a model that can write an essay about Hawaii Five-0 to evaluate an X-ray. Maybe I'm wrong.

The tech works, but it's plateauing. It'll be like a combination of credit cards, Excel, and reality TV. A different kind of search, some office productivity, cheap first level customer service, disposable entertainment. Ubiquitous where it's cheap. A big deal in total.
