My #homeschooling teens have not been respecting the need to do creative or educational or productive work when it's "normal" school hours - and my router could block but not schedule it. So I set up an #AdGuard server on my old Lenovo paperweight and it barely takes any power!

Rescued this ancient Lenovo with some kind of Celeron dorito in it, was designed for windows 8 but actually runs half usably with #LinuxMint, even better if I put a m.2 drive in and give it some more virtual ram on the solid state. It only has 2gb ram with no upgrades allowed but does YouTube decent

No it's not a #computer but it is #technology and it has a fan so the same principles apply.. this one had a tarantula of cathair and clothing fibers and cobwebs in it. Unfortunately even after cleaning it was too late for this one, the overheating from lack of airflow killed it.

Just a look at the benefits of a good teardown - I'm still going after these desktop power supplies, an excellent source of various parts - capacitors, screws, fans, transformers, fuses, cables, you name it. Loving this unshopping trip to the non store! #computerrepair #ecycle

Wonder if that's why it's not working? Rosewill was a rose won't power supply. Found this fuse physically popped - the glass as well as the filament! Was gonna scrap this unit but now I'm gonna replace this fuse to see if it comes all the way back! #computerrepair #technology

A Rube Goldberg Device of a #repair - ordered a new PCM for my #Mazda and still have to pair it! So I have this #Linux installed laptop running a #Windows virtual machine with USB pass through for my OBDII to USB adapter I got. It's slow going but I'm making progress.. I think? #vehicletech

#itstillworks 14 years old and still going! Just had to fuse the broken halves of two identical machines to do it. Fresh #Linux Mint install running better on this solid state than a new w11 pc off the shelf.
