Great book, but I’m sure many of the people who loved The Wasp Factory read the opening chapter of this and thought “what the hell is this?!?” (that said I do love both Iain and Iain M equally)

People that sit in the pub alone and try to talk to other groups should be banned.... just go play on your phone like a normal person rather that trying to engage me and my wife in conversation on a rare night out!

No Paywalls? OK I guess there is Libraries but it's more a "Freemium" model... sure here's some free stuff, but you want the really good stuff you need that shop over there.

Maybe you could write a piece about a major reliance on a small number of massive pieces of Internet infrastructure and how an outage in AWS's East Coast US region is impacting many websites in Europe

Also for what it’s worth, if you coffee at mine (unless you’re a grumpy or awkward tradesman that I only asked if you wanted coffee out of politeness) you get an Americano or Latte if you ask for a coffee

Given the OP was born in 1990 they will have only have lived in frothy coffee era... in 90% of places a millennial would go to buy coffee these days "Black Coffee", or indeed White, isn't on the menu - hense the complaint - it's Americano with milk if you want it.

The Governments already well progressing Digital ID plans are fine and sane, the new Mandatory Citizen Database is the bit that is the issue.

I'm all for raising the profile of illnesses and the cruelty faced by those sufferers of MND, but it hasn't singled him out at all - it's either random genetics or an affect of his lifestyle and career. There wasn't some higher power making the choice and the disease itself can't choose.

The current set of VW EVs are really "not great" - which is a shame as it undermines the better Cupra variants... however the 1st look at the new VW EVs (where they remembered they are a legacy brand with iconic brand names) like the ID.Polo and ID.GTI look really promising

I know it certainly makes law abiding people "feel" safer and fear crime less, not sure it makes that big a difference to actual criminals

I guess with the Online Safety Act throwing "Adult content" into the mix when everything is nicely tied up to your government ID number the NHS will finally be able to answer the age old question of if watching too much porn makes you go blind...
