I honestly think Bourdain's television work is some of the best humanitarian documentary filmmaking I've ever seen
It's fun and he's entertaining as he always was but so often he just cuts straight to the human core of the region he's visiting and showcases their beautiful local culture so well

If you’re an American should watch the Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown ep on Iran. A deeply humanizing look at a country full of people just like you and me. I watched it after Anthony died and it moved in ways that are hard to relay. I also immediately ran out to try kabob koobideh and tahdig.

Oh and whilst were at it with this kind of musing: I highly recommend doingnyour best to consciously cut 'just', 'only' and any other reductive verbage from your vocabulary when talking about what you make or yourself. You deserve better than being talked about like that and so does your art.

Fully wearing my heart on my sleeve publicly which is always a good idea on social media: this Gorkamorka project has been so very healing and validating for me. I feel like I'm talking through an open channel to 12 year old me without the baggage that usually muddies that self talk. (contd.)

used vallejo golden yellow drybrushed heavy on the ork skin, lighter on the clothes, and stippled anywhere I'm doing red, then some white/pale sand to do the teeth and details. Also found dwarf skin is the right orangey tone I need to match the cover art desert. Win!

Just applied texture goop to the Gorkamorka trukk, all the metal bits and bases on the mob. I'm honestly so excited to paint them all up.
