Rather than an oversight this is more the natural result of WT’s volatile and blitz-heavy battles. Rare is the engagement that lasts long enough to drain Trion without a definitive winner and loser.

It’s kind of interesting that in the entire series, despite all the whinging about Trion amounts and costs, Mira’s the one and only character to actually suffer functionality issues from a lack of it. The rare leakage-forced Bail Outs in the B-Rank Wars are more like bleeding out than anything.

Viza’s defeat, something completely incomprehensible to Afto and shaking Hyrein and Mira so bad, is just such an awesome moment. Peak.

Viza being ready to slice Yuma in to Twoma, fully thinking the kid was in his normal body, is insanely metal. Just a small hint at how many war crimes this old man has likely done lmao.

It’s not really something the series itself or the author outright says but it’s something I had an epiphany about just thinking of them. Both Black Triggers and Fate/‘s version of “true magic” inspired Vraelia’s magic system to a certain extent, or more specifically the highest tier of it

Aftokrator as a nation being too arrogant and apparently never thinking that information warfare is important and thus constantly giving up info is funny.

Every Black Trigger breaks a fundamental Trigger or Trion rule of some kind (except for Fujin, I’ve had a hard time pinning that one) but Alektor’s violation of the Trion Body rule puts it right up there with Yuma’s as just outright unfair. Based.

From a writing standpoint, characters like Mira are just awesome. So logistically useful and fun to write dialogue for too with the right personality. I’d like to see her again someday.

A fun Woolseyism here. In Japanese Izumi nicknames Hyrein “わくわく動物野郎” or “Exciting Animal Bastard,” referencing a Japanese animal channel of a similar name, “Exciting Animal Land.” It only makes sense that in English it’s changed to the extremely snappy and witty “Mr. Discovery Channel.”

Pretty interesting implication that the Away Squads have kill counts. When we get our long-awaited Away Mission arc, it’s surely going to be an interesting focal point.
