When I say I want an Aftokrator arc I don’t mean a typical battle shonen one I want a slice of life where Hyrein looks after his funny impractical Trion animals and has to hide them from his very scary fiancée who is mad people think she’s mean and is mean anyways but maybe has a 1/100 cute side

It’s kind of interesting that in the entire series, despite all the whinging about Trion amounts and costs, Mira’s the one and only character to actually suffer functionality issues from a lack of it. The rare leakage-forced Bail Outs in the B-Rank Wars are more like bleeding out than anything.

Viza’s defeat, something completely incomprehensible to Afto and shaking Hyrein and Mira so bad, is just such an awesome moment. Peak.

Every Black Trigger breaks a fundamental Trigger or Trion rule of some kind (except for Fujin, I’ve had a hard time pinning that one) but Alektor’s violation of the Trion Body rule puts it right up there with Yuma’s as just outright unfair. Based.

From a writing standpoint, characters like Mira are just awesome. So logistically useful and fun to write dialogue for too with the right personality. I’d like to see her again someday.

A fun Woolseyism here. In Japanese Izumi nicknames Hyrein “わくわく動物野郎” or “Exciting Animal Bastard,” referencing a Japanese animal channel of a similar name, “Exciting Animal Land.” It only makes sense that in English it’s changed to the extremely snappy and witty “Mr. Discovery Channel.”

Abandoned by his own teammates and treated as nothing more than a science experiment by his enemies. Stone cold, but Enedora earned it - though there’s some sympathy for how Borboros surely corrupted his mind thanks to Afto’s horn technology. So it goes.

It’s curious that with both the Aftokrator invasion and the Galapoula attack, Neighbours never seem to think too hard about Side Effects. We know they have them - Replica has them and Gala’s gamer kid has one iirc - but even the smarter Neighbours (sorry Enedora) never think about them.

Really interesting exchange. Yugo never had a BT, that we knew of at least; Kido must be saying in his younger days, Yugo was ruthlessly efficient like Yuma. Only later would he grow into the rather odd but still good dad he was to Yuma. A rare hint at Yugo’s past.
