Also, it goes without saying, but automation that's both efficient and improves working conditions is a good thing. I don’t know anything about making furniture, but I do know that physical labor can have long lasting effect on workers, so if it’s good for workers it's generally ok with me.

Of course not! But when you see mass layoffs every quarter, most people assume that they wouldn't happen if they made more money. If a show you liked got harsh criticism and didn't get a second season, people assume no one watched it beause of critics. It's not rational, but people rarely are.

I feel you, but I kinda get it. Both the game and movie industry have had massive layoffs over the last few years. If you love a studio or franchise the thought of it failing and the people who make it losing their jobs is devastating. We live in hard times and folks want their thing to succeed.
