But I would argue that everyone is meant to understand linguistics if they’re curious and want to know more! (or, I mean, everyone deserves access to this knowledge and information). Thank you for reposting! 😊

For example, a sentence like “who did you see on which day of the week?” will be a lot more difficult to process than a simple sentence like “I ate dinner.” So my dissertation zeroed in one type of sentence, and looked at different modalities of processing.

Thank you! I forgot to add the alt-text in my post-defense daze 🤦🏼‍♀️ my dissertation basically looked at how second language speakers process sentences in their second language! Linguistically speaking, there’s lots of different types of sentences, some of which can be more difficult to process!

Defending yesterday was truly amazing because I got to celebrate this achievement with so many people who have helped me get to the finish line. For one last time in this PhD journey, I got to share with my friends and mentors near and far my passion and enthusiasm for psycholinguistics.
