Climate technology fan. Overthinker.

Trying to understand how everything works.

If you see something you don't like, assume it's a random shower thought rather than a deeply held belief. ☕
A little aside in Pygmalion / My Fair Lady (1912), is how the working class father, having found himself with a bit of money, ends up welcomed by the upper classes rather than the middle classes.

I often wonder about this class dynamic.

What could possibly go wrong with a single source of "truth"?

Let's go..!

I'd love to see a compilation video of people saying absolutely ridiculous shit to Joe Rogan and him just responding with his usual "wow, what?"

Oh no, Auntie is still sending me creepy bullying letters.

A uniquely stupid way to fund a service.

They've used the address three times, to really hammer home that they know where I live and that they're coming to get me.

(For the record, I don't watch live TV).

Too many people aren't that fussed about what's actually real, are they?

Humans mainly run on pleasure and shorthands. Who cares what's real, if it makes sense and/or you're having a good time?

We're barrelling into the AI kayfabe era and a lot of people are going to be fine with it.

Maybe a good career option to suggest to your kids would be dike builder.

We'll probably need more of those pretty much everywhere.

Oh wow, they did the gorilla channel thing

That the state shouldn't redefine its own roll to reduce the freedom of individuals.

Don't get me wrong, I think he can be persuaded by people with certain resources, but at least what he's said is less useless than Starmer's pov.

This, but registering for Starmer's Digital ID card

Once more with alt text.

How is it OK to send this kind of thing to people?

It's a load of creepy threats designed to make you feel nervous. Just because I'm not interested in buying their product.

The TV licence is a weird anachronism that needs to end.

I'm retrospect, Ex Machina is a great film and a useful pastiche of concepts. They should show it in schools and explain its message.

Randomly wondered if Ulysses was on Audible… and it is..!

Must be a pretty brutal listen 🤔

The way they've managed to get contiguous straw from panel to panel is so appealing… although, thinking about it, I wonder how well the air gap is sealed between them 🤔

Interesting... I've long feared that the first real climate wars would kick off in India. But for the time being, they're not the worst affected, at least not directly by heat.

This doesn't seem sustainable, but perhaps favours geoengineering?

Polyester (1981)

Sound familiar..? 😉

Dunno if this is intended to be kinda brutal…

Anyone with a private space company with an even vaguely plausible claim to be able to perform space mining will be able to make billions -maybe trillions - by shorting precious metals.

Who will shoot their shot first, though - Bezos or Musk?

This study discusses goblins in suspiciously detailed ways. Some may say they are fictional, I say: more research needed.

PM2.5; this is for today - the first spike is lighting the fire, but then there's a period of good quality air, right up until cooking dinner, the second spike.
