#a2council posted a “perfect score” on LGBTQ+ inclusion.
So what’s the score on #a2BlackClimate?
Is there one?
If inclusion can be measured, so can Black outcomes: health, education, housing, wealth, jobs, policing, displacement.
Equity without metrics is branding.
What’s AA's #a2BlackClimate score?

Kodak’s Shirley Cards made white skin the default, leaving Black and brown people underexposed. Ann Arbor City Council works the same way: policies calibrated for whiteness, then surprise when Black folks disappear from the picture. That’s systemic racism. #a2council #a2BlackClimate

Greenbelt: Because Ann Arbor wants affordable labor, not affordable housing. A Burwood Wall with native plants.

Orville L. Hubbard would approve.

Can #a2council justify the expense of operating two (2) golf courses in the city limits?
116 acres of land close to highways, schools, shopping bus lines and hospitals could be put to much better use.
BTW, 1925 Ann Arbor wasn't the most equitable place for housing.

What's this man's story with the building department?
Will the Mayor and Administrator help him or gaslight him?

Single Black father speaks up at #a2council. Will they hear him?

The Mayor's theater and entertainment training shines through when asked: "What will your leadership do to ensure Ann Arbor is actively anti-racist?"
Staying warm by the gaslight.

What percentage of the City's over $600 million budget is spent with Black owned business?

#a2council Democrats are a special kind of ally. Thank goodness for their telling of the City's racist history.

Did y'all see the Mayor's latest piece of gaslighting?

Two years after the DNA sweep the AAPD escorted the Klan to the steps of City Hall to protect their 1st amendment rights.

Today, still no reparative measures in the Master Plan.

Can't believe what you say bc I see what you do.

#a2council Is the new City data dashboard able to answer the question:

What percentage of the City of Ann Arbor's budget is spent with Black owned business?

What's a reasonable amount of time to wait for a response?

#a2council what happens when a political donation doesn't pass the smell test? Is this a pattern?

Thanks for making Reddit in Ann Arbor a safe space, Josh.

#a2council Honest question for the planners, professors & policy experts:
When a developer donates to most of Council, then wins approval for a project that sends millions in public support back their way—what do we call that?
“Smart growth” or quid pro quo with better branding?

Washtenaw County's overall infant mortality rate: 5.1
Washtenaw County's Black/African American infant mortality rate: 13.4
This is what political violence looks like in Ann Arbor. #a2council

Appreciate your time and transparency.

ETA: **Also, when can the public expect a substantial update on the City Council’s 2020 resolution to investigate local reparations?** It’s been nearly four years since that commitment was made.

In developing the CLUP, what rubrics, metrics, or decision trees were used to quantify and address Ann Arbor's racist housing history—or was this all just performative lip service?

With or without a pause both sides ignore our shared history.
It's not a CLUP
It's a Master Plan.
It's propaganda.

Cool, cool. Just point me to the page in the CLUP where it addresses redlining and the wealth stolen from Black families. I’ll wait.
