I miss the days of statesmen and stateswomen, with intelligence and diplomacy, who could work across the aisle, and after a long day, could still be friends with the other party.

Nope. Just someone who has endured corporate insurance, private pay, Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and the ACA, all within my immediate family. I've read a lot.

Lastly, doctors love the idea of single payer. They can concentrate on healthcare instead of hiring insurance-specific staff and negotiating with the many entities. Ask your doc.

There are multiple government run plans right now: Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Tricare, ACA, VA Healthcare.

A single payer would replace all of these, although some (like vets) would jump to the top. That's part of the efficiency that we would get.

It's a marketing messaging thing.... you could call it NHP (National HealthPlan), United Health Plan, National Care Plan.

"Medicare for All" could eventually work, but it's a lot of work to change the stigma of "Medicare".

UK = NHS
AU= Medicare Australia
Japan = Japan National Health Insurance

WRT Medicare for All, ty for the links. They are headed in the right direction, although those 2 articles are woefully lacking in details. The challenge is that "Medicare for All" is just horrible messaging, especially if you've have dealt with the Medicare system, either personally or for parents

Given the importance of "the Epstein files", haven't they all been digitized and indexed? And anytime something is digital, it's easy to make backup copies. Surely, the original sources have been digitized?

What's the source? I'd like to see 3yr, 5yr, Max. Thanks.

Isn't it likely that Trump is calling for the release, because he knows someone else (e.g., Bondi) will find some reason to block the release?

Hold my beer..... I got Cruz and Cornyn.

I've already seen realtors saying .. what a great idea to lower your payment

Is Allred still running?
November 14, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Disappointed that you would copy/paste/repost something with the r-word in it. Even if someone else did it originally, you are contributing to normalizing use of that offensive language.
November 14, 2025 at 12:18 AM
Yes, except that "Medicare for All" has its own challenges. Medicare is still ~ $250/month per person and includes deductibles, co-pays, and doesn't cover hearing, dental and vision. 5% per person would be expense-neutral to our current national expense for a complete universal healthcare.
November 13, 2025 at 5:47 AM
Congresswoman, agreed 100%. But, where is the Democrats full universal healthcare proposal? The ACA still includes the evil insurance companies. Where is *our* plan to sell to the public?
November 13, 2025 at 5:03 AM
Start a thread to get BlueSky predictions about what we'll eventually learn. Come back to see who was most correct in a year, 2 yrs, 5 yrs.
November 12, 2025 at 9:57 PM
Hell, I'll call it TrumpCare if it is globally known as universal health care.
November 11, 2025 at 9:03 PM
I'm pissed that Democrat leaders have not proposed a complete universal health care plan. Republicans want to 86 the ACA. Great, let's do it with universal health care. This was their opportunity and they kicked themselves

In Texas, a Democrat union guy with $65K donations beat a Republican with $2M funded by "Patriot Mobile", for State Senate. It's not just New York.
