TN-7 special election doesn’t change anything with respect to the discharge petition. Grijalva’s signature still makes 218 which is a majority of 435.

I don't think it works that way. Grijalva's signature on the discharge petition would be #218 (unless somebody who has already signed drops off for one reason or another). If the R wins TN-07, it wouldn't "cancel" Grijalva's signature. At most it would only make 216 on the other side (TX-18 is open)

No. WDEF is not a Sinclair station. Sinclair has three stations in Chattanooga but the CBS Affiliate isn't one of them.

Pelosi scheduled the swearing in for a mutually agreed upon date based on a published House calendar without a "quid pro quo" demand. Johnson on the other hand...is ignoring the member's request to be sworn in, has no published House calendar, and is demanding a political "quid pro quo".

I don’t they have yet but at some point I expect they will. The Speaker has a duty to administer the oath. He’s trying to turn it into a transactional negotiation.

It’s not. Back in the 60s Adam Clayton Powell challenged the House’s refusal to seat him. SCOTUS said that as long as the person met the requirements specified in the Constitution they could not be denied being seated.
