With the exception of the RN, no party wants new elections, and all are positioning themselves in view of the next presidential elections. An increasing number of actors push for Macron's resignation so to have a new presidential election in 2026 (or even earlier), but Macron is unlikely to go.

France led by the RN would tilt the balance in Europe, but Meloni should be careful what she wishes for; not sure she and MLP want the same thing. As for the union of the rights, there’s no sign of that for now.

Probably but not sure it will be enough to keep in the whole range of parties from the PS to the LR. At this stage the problem is not concessions or negotiations, it is positioning vis-à-vis the next presidential election.

Agree. The US is clearly on a slippery slope now.

Unclear how Lecornu can do better than his predecessors in assembling a parliamentary coalition. Pressures for new elections or even for Macron's resignation are likely to mount in the coming months. More here ⬇️

The Socialist Party's leaders had pressed strongly for a Socialist PM. They now warn that Macron is "defying social anger", which does not bode well for the new government. The leader of the Greens, Marine Tondelier, talks openly about a "provocation" on the part of Macron. /3

Lecornu was Macron's preferred PM already nine months ago, when Bayrou, threatening Macron to withdraw his support, forced his hand to become PM himself. French politics really set back the clock to last year, only with more fatigue due to an additional year of instability. /2
