Happy to be a coauthor on this #openaccess paper. The study suggests a novel pathway linking arginine uptake to nitrosative stress via upregulation of SLC7A2 in HD pathogenesis and progression, potentially posing a greater risk to patients. 🧪

Elevated SLC7A2 expression is associated with an abnormal neuroinflammatory response and nitrosative stress in Huntington’s disease - Journal of Neuroinflammation
We previously identified solute carrier family 7 member 2 (SLC7A2) as one of the top upregulated genes when normal Huntingtin was deleted. SLC7A2 has a high affinity for l-arginine. Arginine is implic...

Only 1 percent of neuroscience faculty is Black. Kaela Singleton hopes to change that.
Whatever you do, don’t call the Black in Neuro founder “resilient.”

There are (have been) so many awesome aspects of the BRAIN initiative, but the most unique and therefore most vulnerable imo are: (1) providing funding to computational neuroscience and (2) training of young scientists across neuroscience subfields and techniques.
