I wish some of the wildlife in my yard would eat the invasive blackberries. I would love to see a bear or cougar. The one animal that I could do without are the black rats whose population exploded when the city made keeping backyard chickens legal in 2018.

Everything about the 60s was historic. I was only two in 63, but I remember much of the rest.

One obvious change I noticed years ago - the lake I lived on in Missouri during the 60s-70s, went from freezing every year to rarely freezing. As kids, the yearly freeze was a big deal because the lake became a new playground for 2-3 months. Here in Oregon, it's meant an increasing # of 90F+ days.

There's always tomorrow.

Really good hook to get people to watch the series. I don't know why more don't start off with something similar. I give up watching so many miniseries out of boredom waiting for something interesting to occur. I've watched that first season probably six times, maybe more.

I saw this plot line in the first season of "True Detective."

Rarely mentioned, is scenario where one is relying on retirement savings for income but not yet enrolled in medicare. There you have control over your yearly income and indirectly, your ACA subsidy and tax bill. Higher premiums mean you need to withdraw more, thus increasing your income. A loop.

I was once standing in line at the post office, wearing shorts in 30F something weather, when I heard a woman behind me tell her daughter I was just a stupid as her father.

Start by voting for new leadership.

One of those things nobody warns you about. I was a shorts year round guy until my mid to upper 50s. Now it's pants for half the year even though I rarely leave the house during winter because it's always raining.

At this point, primary any that don't call for removal and replacement of leadership.

One year short of Medicare. Rolling the dice.

Orchestrated vote.

Then call for a change in leadership. They are failing us, as are the multitude of senators who make no effort to replace them with people who will fight.
November 10, 2025 at 3:30 AM
Fucking worthless.
November 10, 2025 at 3:14 AM
Gut punch. Bad enough seeing Trump reelected. This comes in as a close second. Some of us are fucked.

In much of the world, this would not be just one prearranged day of protest. It would last days to weeks.
