Residents of Calgary North East continue to struggle with affordability. Conservatives have made it even more difficult by removing caps on insurance and utilities. Albertans deserve a government that will make life more affordable.

Insurance rates are through the roof and Albertans are struggling while UCP and Danielle Smith are siding with billion dollar insurance corporations.

Danielle smith and the UCP have no credibility on economy. Alberta has the highest unemployment rate in entire western Canada. Alberta needs a government that will be focused on creating jobs and come 2027, @albertandp.ca will deliver that.

UCP is introducing a bill to allow online gambling. During these times of affordability crisis, government should be focused on helping Albertans with gambling addictions, funding healthcare, education and making life affordable. UCP has completely wrong priorities.

Today, I door-knocked in Calgary North East and my constituents oppose UCP’s plans to privatize healthcare and dismantle public education. Residents are upset about skyrocketing prices of insurance, utilities, and groceries. I will continue to be their voice and fight for affordable Alberta.

The Alberta NDP is saddened by the passing of Dr. Raj Pannu. A compassionate and dedicated leader, Raj served as the MLA for Edmonton-Strathcona from 1997 until his retirement in 2008. He led our party in 2000 with his memorable "Raj against the Machine" campaign, leaving a lasting impact.
