US Navy Supply Corps Veteran (Lieutenant), Ohio University Alumnus (BS '75), Duke University Alumnus (MF '77). Retired since December 2018. Widowed in August 2021. 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. I've come home to Southern Ohio.
As a USN officer veteran I spent considerable time in the UK and around the Mediterranean countries. I am beyond anger at Trump's treatment of our European friends and allies. I am more than ready to see him impeached and consigned to the dust bin of history. He is the worst President in our history

Trump always exaggerates size and opulence in his projects. None of this is surprising. Count on many tasteless and kitschy interior appointments. I see he is already planning to spend any excess funds on his "Triumphal Arch". Megalomania is with us!

Admiral, I don't recall any formal gatherings (publicly announced anyway) like this from my commissioning into the Navy in late 1978 to the present. Given the present environment this is a seriously concerning development. I am hoping this is just a photo op moment for Hegseth et al.

Sorry didn't have anything more useful to offer. Hope you get it worked out.

Hmmm. Unless the insulation on the wiring has been compromised wouldn't expect bleed from it. Also electricity would go to ground under tree. How close are shrubs to tree? You might also have disease or insect issue going on. Good luck with problem.

What kind of shrubs? Recent drought or heat stress? Trees are extremely poor conductors of electricity. Biggest hazard is dead or storm damaged limb damaging line when falling. Not good to have line running through tree limbs.

What kind of shrubs and have they been under environmental stress recently (i.e. drought and high heat)? Unless an issue with the insulation on that line the main issue with the tree is the possibility of a branch (dead or storm damaged) falling on the line. Trees are poor conductors of electricity.

Justice Thomas is neither a licensed physician nor a medical expert. It is not surprising since conservative judges and politicians would steer us into a dark and dystopian future.

No, The man is an appendage of our Dear Leader and neither of them has a clue about anything of consequence. If anything he is more inept than his boss.

JD this old USN Officer vet and native of a "real Appalachian county" did not vote for you for Senate or VP. I will not resort to crude insults here. However, you are not a physician or a scientist and are not qualified to judge those who are reviewed by their peers. I for one am not on your side.
June 19, 2025 at 12:34 AM
I completely agree with you Senator. As a USN Supply Corps Officer veteran I would like second all of your comments. The current regime in the White House has made it very clear that they are not interested in following their Constitutional obligations. The average citizen will suffer greatly.
June 11, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Senator this old USN Officer vet stands with you. There is nothing patriotic, Christian, ethical or honorable about the administration or its leader. The so called "party of family values" is a very sick joke. Stay safe sir!

Another utterly incompetent and sociopathic member of Trump's inner circle. He should never be allowed to work in government again.

Ladies this old USN Officer vet (not an attorney) enjoyed your chat very much. I gained a little insight into the workings of the federal judiciary from you gals. I have three daughters and two sons all in or nearing middle age years. I'm not a conservative old cuss and support all of women's issues

I'm a Cold War vet. As a young USN Supply Corps Officer I was acquainted with a few junior officers like Hegseth. I made it a point to avoid being guilty of the character flaws exhibited by them. There is no good reason to have Hegseth anywhere near the Dept. of Defense, much less in the SECDEF job
April 21, 2025 at 11:22 PM
Admiral it is obvious that the White House is occupied by an ignorant old fool who is surrounded by and influenced by other ignorant fools. We are going to have a bumpy ride for the next three and a half years. A return to sanity in government would be greatly desirable. May God have mercy on us!

As a Navy Supply Corps Officer veteran, I had several Supply Corps friends when I was on active duty who were in billets in the Navy Exchange and Commissary systems. These operations are run by US Navy Supply Corps Officers. I believe that privatizing these functions would be a horrible idea.

Enjoyed your chat with Acosta. As a USN Officer vet who was in uniform at the end of the Cold War I have never been impressed with Donald Trump (draft dodger and now convicted felon). It is a sad myth that he is a business genius. Now he is doing his best to harm most Americans and their futures.

Admiral this the largest TAX hike of our lifetimes and there is no upside to the trajectory that we are on concerning trade and our relationships with our allies and friends. I sincerely hope that the MAGA fanatics who voted for this reap the full "benefits" of their actions.
