Tech writer, dad, gamer, mangler of the guitar. Aggie. Too many hobbies, not enough focus.
I think the same about seeing new origins though I’ve never thought of the Bond movies in a single continuity. For me, Moore’s Bond isn’t a continuation from Connery’s. The portrayals are too different, even if there are references.

Craig’s Bond is self contained, like All-Star Superman.

Just saw & now backed. Looks like some very good stories. Nice variety of stories & styles. And different genres, it seems.

No one believes you’ll keep fighting when you just surrendered to Trump, days after voters loudly rejected Trump & MAGA.

You’re weak. And you betrayed voters.

I gave Schumer some credit, but it seems he’s just that bad of a leader. A couple of the things they claim they won make no sense.

A key justification for fighting for ACA funding was Rs’ bad faith. And now Schumer takes them at their word on a future vote.

He caved bc he sees Ds as weak.

My wife, daughter & I are seeing it in the theater this afternoon. I could tell from a few seconds of the trailer this movie should be seen on the big screen.

I pulled most recent demographics data. But that doesn’t cover tell the full story the last 30 years. And there’s city vs county. Still these numbers give the gist of demographics difference.

Dallas turned more reliably blue starting in 2006 for several reasons. One non-trivial reason is more corp HQ moved there, bringing a surge of out of state folks.

It’s currently more ethically diverse than Ft Worth, tho that’s changing fast in FW. In D, non-Hispanic whites are 28% vs 37% in FW.

Yep. And while some laid into Dems for using the budget to focus on ACA funds, it turned out to be a great decision. (I had my own doubts.) It further emphasizes Rs have 0 interest in helping non-elites.

Always expose their hate for helping most Americans. They can't let up on affordability.

Do folks in that town not know who Norris was? Or did they pass on recognizing him in any way?

After living in Dallas for nearly 30 years, I thought every city should call out their art & pop culture heritage. Dallas has nothing to recognize all the great blues musicians from there.

Sioned Davies’ translation of the Mabinogion shows that Art of translation so well. Her translation isn’t just more accessible but makes the written words feel like an oral performance. The repetition & alliterations are alive & fresh, without sounding archaic.

I will also tell them (woven in a tapestry of profanity)

- Their kids won't see them in prison.
- Their dog hates them.
- Working for ICE won't make their dick bigger.
- How's goosestepping practice?
- Don't take orders from a pedophile.
- Go home & get their shine box.

She seems unlikely to reach a day where she’s embarrassed by what she has said & supported these past few weeks.

It’s a rule whose primary intent was to prevent stores *raising* prices for SNAP beneficiaries. But there’s some ambiguity as those customers aren’t technically receiving benefits.

But more importantly, the admin could issue a waiver to allow lower pricing as allowed by that same rule.

Evil.

Congrats. I recall some health concerns along the way so I hope everyone is well.

We also left TX in June. Very happy to be in a new home & sort of starting fresh. A welcome & needed change.

Of those Christian victims, how many are Americans?

In other words how does Trump’s threat square w “America first.”
November 2, 2025 at 2:01 AM
My $0.02 is Scholastic is best suited, bc they have a regular presence w the kids, in the monthly book clubs. Or another publisher w an in at schools. Those books come to the kids instead of the kids going to the books.

That or the books are at various stores—Target, Walmart, grocery, etc.
November 2, 2025 at 1:51 AM
Yeah I think the same. My kids & their friends were voracious reading animals. I gave my kids those b&w Marvel & DC collected works. You know…those wordy Stan comics. 🤣

And they tore thru em.

Even webcomics weren’t enuf.

60-80 pages would be a nice standalone story.
November 2, 2025 at 1:34 AM
I know this is true bc when my kids were young, we had a hard time finding regular, monthly comics. And they read quickly so a 60 page monthly comic would have been great.

Still it’s odd no one publishes for that market so regularly.

Can you imagine a 10 or 15 page weekly? 😉

Once more, proof that money is a failed metaphor, this time for good taste.

Using expensive materials like this just means you have high-priced shit.
