Tech writer, dad, gamer, mangler of the guitar. Aggie. Too many hobbies, not enough focus.
When I took Penny out at lunch, she was ready for her puppuccino. That's not our car. But it doesn't matter because it's parked in front of our house so let's go, go, go!

When I pulled her away, she sulked so we had to go to the dog park to make up.

Our day at the Richmond Indie Comics Expo (RICE) comes to an end. We meet many nice folks and artists we hope to see again.

It was great to see a diversity of creators & attendees.

Our 100-year-old theater isn't devoted to movies, but they have both a classic movie series & a silent movie series. During the later, they'll play the Wurlitzer organ they bought in 1926.

I'm looking forward to seeing Night of the Hunter in the theater next March.

Penny's idea of Face Time ignores personal boundaries.

This Mindy Newell-Gray Morrow two-issue mini series with Lois Lane is an underappreciated 1986 series.

Headed to the Baltimore Comic Con w some items to get autographed, which I almost never do. But so many artists & writers I’ve enjoyed so much will be there.

I’ll be helping my daughter at table F9.

I can’t find Thor #337 after the move to MD. It’s here but I must have put it in the wrong box.

Read this earlier tonight. The party has been on this path for 60 years. You don't repeatedly vote for & support a racist without accepting the racism, if not embracing it.

Democrats have to constantly call the racism for what it is. Hell, calling it the White Man's Party isn't a bad idea.

Mister Miracle from the very talented @jonhartman.bsky.social . It was hard choosing a character, but as a kid who was into Houdini's bio at the time, I was hooked on Scott Free as an escape artist.

Other ideas: Nexus, Space Ghost, and Matter Eater Lad or Ferro Lad.

Well, at the bar near the departure gate to San Fran, folks are having beers at . . . 9 AM.

As my uncle used to say,

“I’m a light beer drinker.

As soon as it’s light, I’m drinking a beer.”

We enjoyed the Small Press Expo today. We picked up stories of different genres & nice prints. We enjoyed chats w/artists. Over 500 artists from all over.

A bit to read. The 1st thing I bought: a woman illustrated her father's story of when he danced w/Janis Joplin. Excellent hook.

While in Bethesda, Grace & I stopped at Torchy's for lunch.

This might be the only Republican I really like.

The Democrat is good, but today, I needed some brisket & chipotle on flour tortilla.

Another well placed line (for your inner Beavis).

Not to mention that's a paragraph, not a headline.

She thought the white actors would say how the industry is better with those movements ended (they’re not).

And here’s her response to the criticism.

“For some reason” 🤣 Then she acts if she meant for all 3 to respond.

“Real racists … see racism everywhere”

Penny had sat more in the new chair in my office than I have. And her bed is right there. I think she likes that swooped seat.

We took the short drive to Harpers Ferry today, mainly to get an idea of what's there. So no real hiking on the Appalachian Trail or the others in the area.

I thought it was a beautiful area and just enjoyed the views. It was sunny 72 degrees F. Next time, we'll walk the Maryland Heights trail.

I thought I might get an RCA 6v6gt black plate tube for the amp. A pure indulgence to have ~80 year old tubes.

But wow the price has doubled in 2 years, when I last shopped. $80-100 + shipping.

Used Swart Atomic Jr amps seem higher now, too. Mostly $1000-1200 vs $600-800 a couple of years ago.

The AI response sounds like it looked for a review of a Robert Bloch work called Wargames.

This is what I got when I slightly changed the search string to clarify:

Finally unpacked the boxes in my office & hung some new & favorite art. The guitars are here, too, w the idea I'll practice more this way.

I'd like to add more original art as I can afford it.

I'd like to see Pritzker order the IL Natl Guard to disregard any order from Trump.

I'm watching the Baltimore threat closely.

Things I'd change: Don't add the 2 tsp of baking powder & use less flour.

I kept the oil 325-350 well, but that batter got too done. The chicken, tho, was tasty & very moist.

The wet batter clung well to the chicken after 11 hours of marinating. I'll try again before going back to dredging.

I realized it's been 4+ years since I last fried anything.

I didn't stay with a tried & true recipe. No, I decided to do something I've not done before--fry chicken with a wet batter. And I improvised.

It didn't marinate a full 24 hours, which is imp but I'm impatient.

Sleepy time
All the time...

She ran errands with me today--a load of old boxes to the recycling center, then a trip to the dog store for food, & car wash.
