Just finished applying 풀 (glue). Next I’ll have to let the canopy air dry and then I’ll trim the excess paper ✂️

Next step will be creating the topper and treating the paper with waterproof material!

It’s normal to feel the need to improve multiple features of your project all at once. It can be overwhelming.

Tackle things one at a time. You’re on a learning journey.

This is the latest order I’m working on. Customer wanted to treat his date to some leisure time at a winery while sporting a pure white parasol together 🥂

Luckily my parasols have plenty of room for 2 - not a problem! 😬 #parasol #maker

Preparing my parasol ribbing. Usually this is the step where I apply finish to increase the wood quality as well as spot check any warping from my cuts.

Usually traditional Asian parasols use bamboo but I ain’t got none 😵‍💫🤷

Work with what you got!

Laser cutters are legit. Prototyping and crafting delicate pieces would normally take forever - I’m surprised I hadn’t heard about tools like these sooner 😵‍💫

Excuse the patch job 😗 Using hanji (한지) like this makes diffusing light look pretty. Wonder if this can work for photo shoots 🤔 #parasol #maker

Gluing paper on my parasol frame took some time but the color and fibers look beautiful 🤩 #parasol #maker

All the parasols I’ve seen online are sooo small. What if I wanted something bigger? 🤔😵‍💫 Here’s a frame I made with plywood and PETG plastic. This is a ~4ft diameter.
