Good news: Slept in the new house for the first time last night!!
Bad news: Buyer of our house fucked around and changed lender last minute and is now asking for an extension. Closing was supposed to be yesterday. Did not communicate this to our agent until the day before closing.

Progress! Shout out to the grandparents for taking our child away so we can actually get stuff done. Previous owner had a terminal case of TV Too High. These outlets (in every room) are 72” above the floor. So even a 65 inch tv as low as possible to is only comfortable to watch while standing.

I have dropped significantly in the rankings!!!Owner/estimator is firmly in the crosshairs. Felt bad for the short handed movers and helped more than I should have. Earned two of theses.

They had no clue where the hardware that secures the headboard to the frame for our daughter’s bed ended up. We weren’t planning on staying there until possibly Sunday.

Kind of a fiasco. Only three movers today instead of four. We and they were promised two extra hands for unloading that never showed. But it’s all moved. Only two damaged items of significance so far. Opening boxes starts tomorrow.

Handy feature of the old house is that it’s on the main drag of the neighborhood. Anything set on the curb doesn’t last more than a couple hours at most.

I’m sure in the grand scale our move pales in comparison to most. But shit is still NOT FUN. House was bought 12 years ago, I moved in 9 years ago. We have SO MUCH shit.

Good looking out! Kitchen is 100% done and checked. They didn’t end up loading any thing in the truck today, just boxed everything and prepped furniture. They refused to pack out booze and wine so I did that after work today and took it to new house. This shit is exhausting.

House is like 85% packed. They didn’t finish my daughter’s room and somehow forgot an entire linen closet. Good news is I’m no higher than 3rd in the “most likely to be Fatalitied by my Wife” poll. Although I hired the movers so keep your fingers crossed.

Movers already want to change the plan an hour into packing. Want to put stuff on truck starting today. Take truck the their locked lot overnight. Then come back and finish loading the truck tomorrow.
