i was almost out of thread at the end, so i finished with a couple
messy running stitches. it'll do the job & reminds me of my misspent youth
the patch now secured in place with, mostly, blanket stitch. about half of one side has running stitches instead

so i have this ugly stain on the lower leg of my jeans

and i have a scrap of this cute print that i prepped for english paper piecing

and i know how to blanket stitch
light wash denim fabric with an oval, brownish stain a bold geometric print of dark green lines and teal/turquoise accents on a chartreuse background, shaped into a hexagon the back of the printed fabric, showing that the hexagon was made by pressing the raw edges over a 2 inch paper hexagon and then basting the folded edges down with large handstiching the printed hexagon pinned over the stain with one blanket stitch in teal thread securing a corner.

working on a beaded lace shawl

i got these beads on the island last weekend but i do not have enough. if i can't match them here i guess i will have to go back soon!
Unblocked lace still on the knitting needles. The lace pattern is diagonal lines and diamonds, studded with iridescent teal beads. The yarn is a medium teal with subtle gradations in colour, and has a subtle sheen from its silk content.
