Tbf, it was accidental. He didn’t realise that the bus seat was just vinyl over a framed, nothing in between. A couple of stitches, he was tickety boo. And army boy promised only to bring his knife in on cadet days and not to do anymore stabbings.

A kid at my school was mad about war, loved cadet force, dreamed of joining the military and used to walk around school with a Rambo knife that he accidentally stabbed a kid with on the bus back home one time.

Tbf, he went on to have a sterling career, rose to major, lots of medals and stuff. 🤷‍♂️

To be fair you’d get much the same result of the question asked if Hitler was really the bad guy.

And that’s probably where me and Prezzo part ways. Which is a bit sad. Many happy memories were made in their restaurants. But ultimately it was the quality of the offering that did for them.

I liked going to Prezzo for a cheap and cheerful meal. Always used a discount. And it was a better pizza that a store bought one cooked at home. Until it wasn’t and was about the same as a decent store bought. Until it wasn’t even that. Lasts nights Prezzo was substantially worse than store bought.

I’ll try and get there early to get in the Amex lounge for my free drink. Which I will raise to El Tel.

I won’t be asked to provide a song, but if I was I think I’d give People - from this album, obvs - a spin. Next month, Simply Red are playing at the O2. I wasn’t going to go, but I’ve since discovered Soul ii Soul are the supporting act. So I will go.

He likely will not remember the album. It wasn’t his type of music. And I suppose there’s a reasonable chance that I may not see him again, this side of the inevitable final service. I wonder what his playlist will be for that service?

I once looked up a school friend who was cadet force mad, carried a Rambo knife and accidentally stabbed a fellow pupil in the bus home.

Turns out he made it to major, won an MC in the paras and is an all round hero. I hope the boy he stabbed can now appreciate the part he played in this story.
