DW. Practice improves function; this is a central tenet of rehabilitation. A recent trial demonstrates that a protocol to increase walking practice after stroke is effective. We must help patients practice independently without professional supervision. doi.org/10.1016/S147... #neurorehabilitation

Though high-intensity interval training (HIIT) can increase neurotrophin, improve cardiovascular health, & enhance recovery after #stroke, it's rarely prescribed. Authors identified key facilitators & barriers to HIIT use in patients & #neurorehab professionals.

Recently published work found that reinforcement motor learning was impaired in individuals within 3 months after #stroke. The findings are important for optimizing #neurorehabilitation after stroke as some #rehabilitation approaches rely on reinforcement. 🧠📈 🧪
