I will have to read that. Infinite Jest feels pretty spot on for a 1996 release. Everyone watches a Netflix-like service, the President is a fascist Berlusconian celebrity figure, and viral video content so engaging that it breaks people’s brains threatens to cause social collapse.

The deficit increase resulting from the bill would already mandate $500B in Medicare cuts due to PAYGO. No need to reflexively polarize against reducing MA overpayments which is good policy that keeps private insurers from looting the Medicare trust fund.
