European Hare (Lepus europaeus): This European mammal can grow up to 75cm (30in) in length. They are also found in Asia and have been introduced into Australasia and the Americas. European Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis): These finches from Europe, North Africa and Asia were introduced into NZ & Australia. They are 13cm (5.1in) and feed their young insects but most of the year feed on seeds, especially small seeds like teasel and thistle. Photo by Sandy Belford in Scotland.
