I still can't believe she's gone. It hurts to pass the cat food aisle or see other cats in my travels. Just trying to focus on catching up with tasks and preparing for a trip.

You know what I've noticed? Nobody panics when things go "according to plan." Even if the plan is horrifying! If two state lawmakers in MN get killed, nobody panics, because anti-Dem violence is normalized. But one GOP podcaster gets shot, well then everyone loses their minds.

I know what the creator, show runners, & fans say, & I don't give a crap. They had such good chemistry with the potential for more. I've been in the fandom game for decades and sometimes that's all you need. People are too uptight about things, try to have fun in your life for once.

She finished the whole season now and enjoyed it! Said it was different and interesting. I showed her the 2nd season teaser trailer. I'll probably watch s2 in full before she does just so I can absorb it myself. It's challenging to watch stuff w/ her because of her endless questions lol
Got my mom to watch the first ep of O/ne P.iece live action -- she liked it! Said it was different and not what she expected to watch, lol. I adore the cast so much, and I'm happy she wants to watch the next ep. 😄

Looking at the newest f.antasy b.ooks for the next few months...yikes, the genre is oversaturated with the same repackaged tropes, and samples show mediocre writing. 😩 Not a surprise but I really have to research and use my library even more to find hidden, polished gems, not these quick cash grabs.

Watched a random movie trailer: "Why did you choose [UK location]?" She's from NYC: "We don't have this [history] back home." 🙄 2025 & still doing this in which (mostly white) people think history began at 1492, 1776, & 1867. Our histories/cultures predate those years big-time. Stop being ignorant.

I made a 230+ rock (and rock-ish) song rec playlist for one of my younger cousins, who is exploring more rock, esp bands rarely heard on mainstream radio stations (unless on speciality/niche ones). So far, she's enjoying it, which makes me happy. 😊 She's discovering a whole new world of music!
