It’s not real PhD level intelligence if it doesn’t cry at its desk from self doubt once a week, it’s just sparkling academia

This box contains the French press and artisan coffee I travel with and the voice of me asking my mam if she can buy oat milk before I come home for a visit because the six year old instant coffee in the back of the press won’t do.

Would ye like to see a very wholesome, only-slightly-notiony cookbook recipes from the Irish peacekeeper families in Cyprus in the 80s?

Look at these queer Lego icons from the 80s. Go off girls.

I regret to inform you that the Rihanna River Island tshirt that was a staple for every man I went to college with in 2011 is now being sold as “vintage” on eBay.

Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat by Samin Nosrat is phenomenal. It’s a cookbook but it’s so much more. It teaches you the science of cooking, the reasons why certain things taste good, how to balance food, how to be confident in the kitchen. I couldn’t recommend it enough. I took notes and I’ll reread it 5/5🌟

I hated The Overstory by Richard Powers. I found it so preachy, and so long without any pay off. It’s beautiful prose, sure but the characters are entirely unbelievable and I never understood their motivations other than as plot devices. Only finished it because it was for my book club 2/5 stars ⭐️

Oh to have the unbridled confidence of a man commenting that you just need to exercise and eat well on a video discussing postpartum recovery.

Spare by Prince Harry was honestly such a slog. I enjoy mess and trivial pettiness which I thought this might be full of. But really it’s just very sad and when it’s not very sad, it’s excruciatingly tedious. Monarchies are absolutely ludicrous. 2.5/5 ⭐️

Remarkably Bright Creatures is a stunning book. So beautiful. A unique story about loneliness and family and how smart octopi are. Can’t recommend it enough. Cried so much at the end (but in a happy way) 5/5 ⭐️

It’s the rights we’ve long been denied girls, a government *checks notes* “striving to support the provision of care”. Feminist goals complete, we can all go home (but not because the constitution says we have to, that’s not gonna be the law anymore)
