Hiroshima has opened up a stone chamber containing a register of people who died as a result of the U.S. atomic bombing of the city, to remove moisture and inspect it for damage.

The register, which contain the names of 344,306 people who died on or before Aug. 5 last year, was given an airing to remove moisture and inspected for damage.
