My #MLAstro #SAL-33 harmonic mount got its firmware updated today. That was after I forgot to turn off tracking and it ended up tipping over because I forgot it was on and it go top-heavy after slowly slewing. Bent my power plug. No harm. Factory firmware is gone. Newest release installed! 🌌🔭🦛

#Mars is called the Red Planet because its surface is covered in rusty dust. If you were on Mars though, it wouldn't be red. It would be more of a ruddy yellow.

Did you know that the Hubble Space Telescope is one of the most productive scientific instruments ever built? Astronomers using Hubble data have published more than 15,000 scientific papers. Those papers have been cited in other papers 738,000 times.

Got abt 6 hrs of data with IC 342 (Hidden galaxy)-basically all the dust in our galaxy in this celestial pole area obscures the galaxy otherwise it'd be brighte as Andromeda..hope to get more data but tracking has been difficult along with weather

The #Moon's surface is covered in fine, glassy dust caused by billions of years of impacts. In the next 10 years, there's a 95% chance that every man that has walked on the Moon so far will be dead.

I haven’t spent much time on globular clusters, but I think I need to change that.
This is just 0.5hr on M13, a large globular cluster in the direction of Hercules. Reprocessed with Siril, GraXpert, Veralux Hypermetric Stretch, GIMP. #Seestar S50 🔭 🧪

When can you understand English? For me it's about 1200 AD with any decent time between ' what's was that?'

By tracking objects, astrometry helps predict future positions of asteroids and comets. Without it, we wouldn't be able to plan missions to orbit, the Moon, or other planets in the solar system.

Another clear night ahead (although the Moon is getting more and more annoying), so I'll try to extend my #Seestar S30 Orion mosaic again. Shown is the version so far (left) and the version one day before. The difference is last night's haul :-) 🧪🔭⚛️
