Back from the ether. Blue City born. SFF/Folk Horror writer. ‘At Night, White Bracken’ out now everywhere, ‘To Those from Below’ coming April 2026. Repped by @losbennett.bsky.social at Liverpool Lit Agency
Around six weeks after watching it, i still find myself thinking about ‘Bring Her Back‘ a lot.
Visceral, uncomfortable, brutal and, above all, proof positive that, in horror especially, if you write characters that an audience can legitimately care about, the stakes genuinely matter and land.

This week on the podcast, Hammer takes on Arthur Conan Doyle and the result is a magnificent adaptation of The Hound of the Baskervilles!

Having just finished ‘The Night Guest’, i couldn’t concur more about its literary chops. Brilliantly observed, uniquely constructed, existentially framed and flush with Hildur’s compelling prose. A truly banging read.
The Night Guest has been longlisted for the Dublin Literary Award!

"Despite being firmly within the psychological horror genre, The Night Guest operates with literary restraint: spare prose, precise imagery, and a calculated withholding of resolution."

A year ago today ‘At Night, White Bracken’ was released everywhere. The year which followed has been, at times, for those who know, the most devastating and yet, in places, the most wonderful, culminating in signing with @losbennett.bsky.social
A lifetime in 12 months.
In autumn, we are richest.

Sometimes you think. I am so grateful to have made a life from doing something I love for quite a few years, and watching more and more agents and publishers getting involved in SFF publishing. En avant! Xxxx
