Hi Harry. Caroline Johnson’s claim, to be polite, is at a tangent to reality. Many airports have their own solar farms (like LAX!). She as form for such claims, like saying birds will die if they land on solar panels, which would be a surprise to this yellowhammer. solarenergyuk.org/wp-content/u...

I am suddenly reminded of the (in)famous case of Arkell v Pressdram (referred to as such though it never reached an English court). As a sometime legal editor, it’s definitely one of my favourites.

Jolly well done, Harvard.

Ed Miliband has approved all of six nationally-significant scale #solarfarms thus far and imagine the counterfactual: refusing a project that would help fulfil manifesto commitments just because of the donation. This is desperate stuff from the Conservatives.

Well, at least we can look forward to ‘Enron the Musical 2’. The dancing velociraptors were quite a sight on the stage.

Absolutely nothing to do with Viscount Rothermere owning vast tracts of land. Nope, nothing to see here, as @guyshrubsole.bsky.social will happily confirm, I am sure. whoownsengland.org/2020/01/04/t...

Powerful speech from @kerrymp.bsky.social at the Community Energy England Awards, bringing together international climate policy and local action. “‘This government is passionate about #communityenergy,” she says. “We want to unleash the power of renewable energy.”

Here's me at the Young Environmentalist of the Year Awards in 1990 (badly stitched together from two scanned photos). I'm on the right with the red tie. Yes, that's Johnny Morris, a young Chris Packham, Roy Castle, Terry Nutkins, Ernie Wise etc.

Who says things never change? On the left shows major UK electricity generation assets in 2000, on the right the situation in 2023. Just look at all the #solar and offshore #windpower. Source: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/660445...

Landmark time for the UK solar industry: we have just surpassed 1.5m smaller-scale @MCSCertified installations, on the likes of domestic rooftops, village halls, shops and schools. 😎⚡️🧑‍🔧https://solarenergyuk.org/news/uk-reaches-1-5m-small-scale-solar-installations/

Huge congratulations to @MCSCertified for reaching more than 1.5 million registered solar PV installations. Onwards and upwards to 2m - and more!
