Avoid Barfords Bridge today please. Unless you’re on four legs. One car got stuck and several were making interesting noises after driving through.

Reflections on internal party elections and the delayed (until when?) count, earlier today.

At an interesting seminar hosted by Bicester Vision on the transport implications of future developments. The red lines in the background denote greenfield land being promoted for development. Several parish councillors are also in attendance.

It’s a morning of gullies…..

Annual clean on its way to Duns Tew. Evidence of why we needed to restore the annual operation at Barford.

“A representative cross section of Oxfordshire society”…..?

Off to full Council this morning, and should have some good news to share later!

Great #pub news in Deddington, the Red Lion is reopening. Saw this after a chat with Friends of Deddington Library talking about future plans

Just over a week for #libdems members to cast their ballots in the internal elections. #councillors can vote for me for the Federal Board and everyone can vote for me for Federal Conference Committee. And I claim first use of the time honoured graphic reminder….

At South Central Lib Dems’ Conference where I had a chance to catch up with Clive Jones (MP for Wokingham). A decade ago we worked together to protect local pubs. Now he’s MP for some of the best craft brewers in the land.

Popped into Deddington and found the crew doing the annual gully emptying - something we’ve restored after many years without it. They’ll need to come back to those with cars parked over, but they’re doing a great job!

A rare and emotional night out to see the legendary Edwyn Collins last night on what he says will be his final UK tour. If you have a chance, I’d highly recommend it.

Recently I brought Calum Miller MP to the site of Ardley station. A developer-funded reprovided station here is essential to avoiding gridlock should Heyford Park New Town, Puy du Fou and OxSFRI go ahead.

The Government’s New Towns Task Force report has identified Heyford Park as one of twelve New Towns in its report released today.

While this isn’t a total surprise, it has profound implications for the existing Heyford Park community and the surrounding Cherwell Valley villages.

Libraries are the heart of our communities. Deddington Library needed a lick of paint and it’s great to see it now glowing in the not-quite-sunlight.

And for dinner, a pie from the excellent Wrightons of Fritwell (butcher, village shop and post office).

Nice to get the message from my mum that I’m on the front page. Pleasantly surprised to find others read it.

Out with @calummillerld.bsky.social talking to Heyford Park residents about the New Town proposal and other local issues

…..there’s now a sixth.

Not as big, but a 485-home proposal on greenfield land between Heyford Park and Middleton Stoney, being promoted by Richborough Estates with an outline planning application due later this year.

For those with an interest in the huge change proposed around Ardley, Heyford Park, Fritwell and Bucknell, the chair of Fritwell Parish Council has superimposed the five proposals onto a map.

Except…..

On my way to Health Overview & Scrutiny. Access to GP services is on the agenda as is ophthalmology. Keep Our NHS Public serenaded us on the way in!

It’s a good thing there’s a planning application for a new school in Heyford Park.

Some lovely conversations as I stretch my legs and thank residents in my latest newsletter. Volunteer helpers welcome!

It would be great if #fritwell could have its #pub back
