Yes, there is technically nuance in the tech world and development of machine learning. That does not mean the plagiarism machine is fine actually.

And of course, we cannot forget that: We already KNOW how to fix climate change. Climate scientists actually are very clear on what causes climate change and what is needed to reverse that. The issue is finding the political willpower to execute on that.
We have to legally enforce climate mandates.

The argument I'm most frustrated about, is when someone argued against people boycotting ChatGPT with "but what if AI will solve climate change?"
First of: ChatGPT and other LLMs are CONSTANTLY making the environment worse, not better.
Second: explain how? you're just bullshitting.

There are very valid usecases for Reinforcement learning, the science field of AI has a lot of different fascinating ways they handle data processing. And there are amazing applications when these processes are applied by specialists. Stealing images or written works are not one of them.
