Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

You had the gumption to force many of us into bankruptcies, foreclosures, sell-offs and suicides before this lavish bailout. I for one, want to kiss your swollen ankles and pledge my allegiance to the Republican Party because I’m not in a cult whatsoever. 😇

It is absolutely wild that the guy who won’t stop yelling about law and order is now personally stepping in to keep January 6 documents hidden from the police officers who were attacked that day. He knows exactly what’s in those files and he is terrified the country will see it.

Interesting angle for sure. I suppose we should also say #noqueens - HOWEVER - I argue, it has never been a concern in this country that a woman would be so greedy and power hungry so as to seek a throne, unless one is referring to music divas, of course.

The moderation and block tools on here are so advanced , if you see someone you don’t want to see on here, just block them. Don’t attack them.

There used to be great give and take discussions on politics and news. Not so much any more.

Doesn’t have to be this way

Everything Scott Bessent said today was wrong. Our GDP growth has slowed, job numbers are down, and the big beautiful bill will raise the deficit by trillions. We are worse off today than we were last year, and while Bessent says it’s a distraction, Americans don’t just see—they feel—the truth.

The US-China trade war created jobs (elsewhere)
In June 2016, Donald Trump justified the protectionist policies during his first administration as “the quickest way to bring our jobs back to our country”. This column shows that while the trade war with China failed to create jobs at home, it did boost employment in Brazil. Regions in the country specialised in industries targeted by China’s trade policy towards the US experiencing a relative increase in formal employment and wage bills between 2016 and 2021. With tensions between major economies rising, policymakers in third countries should be aware not only of the risks of global fragmentation, but also of the opportunities it can create.
